Earlier this month, Managing Director at Le Mottee Group and Deputy Mayor of Port Stephens Council, Paul Le Mottee was elected the President of the Housing Industry Association (HIA) for the Hunter region.
The HIA is the official body of Australia’s home building industry. It supports members, helps the residential housing industry speak with a united voice, and promotes industry standards.
Being chosen to represent the Hunter as President is a huge feat with many responsibilities. Executive Director of HIA Hunter, Craig Jennion believes Paul is equipped to handle the task.
A Hunter based surveyor and certifier with over 30 years’ experience, Paul has become the HIA Hunter’s 6th Regional President.
For the next two years Paul, along with newly elected Vice-President, Greg Doodson of Suncoast Bathroom Renovations and 10 other HIA members, will form the Hunter Regional Executive Committee.
“The role of the Regional Executive Committee it is to represent the local region, assist in the development of HIA policies and provide a local forum to deal with regional issues,” Craig said.
“With a strong understanding of the challenges those in the residential building and construction industry face, I’m certain that Paul will successfully lead the industry diverse HIA Hunter Regional Executive Committee.”
Speaking of his appointment, Paul said it was a humbling moment to learn he had been chosen by industry peers to represent HIA Hunter
“It is a great honour to be elected to lead the HIA Hunter Regional Executive Committee and I hope to build on the legacy of previous Hunter Region Presidents by strengthening the capacity and capability of both the Association and its members.”
“I look forward to working with the new Hunter Regional Executive Committee to develop policies and approaches that ensure that we retain a competitive residential housing industry, something which is critical to the economic wellbeing and growth of not only the Hunter but NSW more broadly,” Paul concluded.
