Greater Bank has renewed its sponsorship of the Newcastle Netball Association (NNA), Charlestown Netball Association (CNA) and Hunter Netball for the 2026 season. The funding is intended to support community participation and health programmes for several thousand players across the Hunter region.
The investment allows Hunter Netball to implement its Nutrition and Wellbeing Programme, focusing on the physical and mental health of athletes following the organisation’s 2025 Metro League Division 5 title. Chair of Hunter Netball, Jodi Cassar said the support is essential for maintaining the health of the 2026 athlete cohort.
“We are grateful to Greater Bank for the support, which allows us to provide funding towards our Nutrition and Wellbeing Programme to nurture the overall health of our players,” Jodi said.
The NNA, which recorded approximately 4,000 members in 2025, will use the capital to expand its inclusive initiatives, including Walking Netball, All-Abilities programmes and growing participation in men’s and boys’ competitions.
NNA President, Leigh Whitehead said the objective is to enhance the experience for all age groups and genders.
“The support from Greater Bank helps our association grow each of our competitions and programmes,” Leigh said.
Home Lending Specialist at Greater Bank, Emma Dumbrill said the partnership aligns with the bank’s strategy of supporting local community engagement through inclusive sport.
“Greater Bank is continuing its support for the 2026 season to help bring the local community together through sporting opportunities,” Emma said.
“Netball encourages teamwork and a healthy lifestyle, and we look forward to the season ahead.”
The continued financial backing of regional netball associations underscores the role of corporate social responsibility in maintaining community infrastructure. By supporting a range of inclusive sporting options, the partnerships help ensure that regional sporting bodies remain viable and accessible to a broad demographic across the Hunter.
