Graph Building celebrates 25 successful years in the Hunter region

July marked a significant milestone for Adamstown-based Graph Building, as it celebrated 25 years as a building contractor.

Graph Building’s success over the past 25 years is credited to its loyal workforce, with half of the company’s employees having been with the business for more than a decade.

The company has also fostered strong, long-term relationships with its subcontractors, many of whom have worked with Graph for years.

Graph’s client base, which includes both public and private sector partners, has also been instrumental in its growth, with many clients returning for repeat business. Operating exclusively in the Hunter Region, Graph handles a range of projects, from residential homes to large commercial builds.

Most recently, the company earned the Newcastle MBA Excellence in Building Award for Extensions, Renovations, and Refurbishments in the $10 million to $20 million category for its work on the Belmont 16s Centenary Project.

When Greg, Ross, Arch, Paul, and Harry took over DF McCloy Constructions Pty Ltd on 1 July 1999, their philosophy was to stick to what they know.

While Greg, Arch, Paul, and Harry are now only part of the company’s history, new owners – John, Scott, Dean, and David- who actively work in the business, have come on board.

In that time Graph has gone from postage stamps to emails, and from paper files to electronic versions, but the old principles have remained and have kept the company in good shape throughout a quarter of a century.

“There have been many challenges over the past 25 years – Graph commenced during the hoo-ha about the Y2K bug which, not unexpectedly, came to nothing, and then the business had to work with a new GST. With all the ups and downs since then, there is no doubt that the past few years have been the most difficult for the building industry. Although there are lingering issues, I think the worst is behind us,” Ross Howard, Graph’s General manager said.

“We are grateful to all of you for working with us in the past and look forward to new projects in the future,” Ross said.

Graph Building

Graph is in the business of constructing buildings – from individual houses to large commercial developments. A privately owned business, we’ve been around since 1999, operating in a regional market where reputation and versatility are the keys to long term success.

Our commercial projects reflect a diversity of product, and a diversity of size (typically costing in the range $0.5m to $30m).

Our residential projects range from high end houses to medium density housing and apartment buildings.

Across the range of our activities, we enjoy high levels of repeat business by way of negotiated contracts, but we are philosophically committed to competitive tendering so that all our projects are delivered efficiently and cost effectively.

But we’re not just builders – Graph can assist at any stage of a project, from site acquisition, through the approvals process to construction and handing over the keys.
