‘Get Back In The Game’ is a new program launched in partnership between Novaskill and the NSW Department of Education.
It aims to target disengaged youth from Newcastle, Hunter Valley, Port Stephens and Central Coast with education, training, support, and employment opportunities.
The program has two key components, Get in the Game (GIG) and Back in the Game (BIG) and will focus on young people, who are still at school but struggling to engage with education (BIG), as well as those who have left school but are finding it difficult to make effective transitions into training or employment (GIG).
Novaskill’s Operations Manager (Communications), Nikola Vercoe said the program helps young people gain employability skills, identify career pathways and establish valuable connections with employers and industry.
“This program will be hugely beneficial for young people in the area who may be disengaged from their education, and we have already had some really positive feedback from some of our local schools and community organisations who have been asking for a program like this,” Nikola said.
“Under the program, we want to be able to give young people the best opportunity to reach their potential through either a continuing enrolment at school, or by helping them find their perfect fit through external training or employment.”
“This is the perfect market for us to get these young people into work to start off their career journey and our team are really excited to get into it,” Nikola said.
As an experienced Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and Group Training Organisation (GTO) who has been working in the area for over 40 years, Novaskill look forward to partnering with many local businesses to bring this program to life.
