Experienced legal advice has strengthened business law services at Mullane & Lindsay Solicitors with the appointment of respected and well-known commercial Litigator and Accredited Specialist, Craig Doyle.
In what has been described as a coup for the Newcastle-based law firm, Craig has joined the team at its CBD practice.
With almost 40 years’ experience, including three decades at McDonald Johnson Lawyers and more recently as a Senior Consultant with global firm DWF, Craig brings solid expertise to commercial transactions and litigation, commercial property, property development, retail leasing, and issues with corporations.
A major focus will be helping business owners navigate complex commercial channels.
“Understanding, managing, and applying the law in today’s commercial environment can hold many challenges for business operators – no matter the size of their firm,” Craig explained.
“Good legal advice needs to be easily explained, innovative, and outside the square in order to provide the best outcomes.”
Craig believes one of the biggest issues facing regional business owners is the need to ensure their employees embrace technological change and are involved in any transitional approach.
“Another concern is making sure businesses are aware of the change in focus of the law,” he said.
“Larger businesses also need to remain internationally relevant as the world moves away from thermal energy.”
During the past four decades, Craig says he’s seen significant developments to how legal services are delivered.
“When I began practicing, we used telexes and manual typewriters. I am now in the cloud and part of a global technological matrix along with a new area of law known as Verification of Identity, or VOI, an important part of commercial real estate transactions.”
“Despite this, it is still all about people and explaining the law in plain English.”
Mullane & Lindsay Director, Kristy Nunn says the firm is delighted by their new appointment.
“Given one of our mantras is we speak your language, Craig is a perfect fit,” Kristy said.
“We’ve also been working with local businesses across the Hunter and mid north coast for more than 40 years and are thrilled to further strengthen our commercial offering.”
Craig is an Accredited Specialist by the Law Society of NSW in both business law and commercial litigation, an Arbitrator of the Local Court of New South Wales, and a public notary. He is also a member of the AICD.
“I’m really excited to be joining Mullane & Lindsay and look forward to contributing my specialist skills to their exceptional legal services,” Craig concluded.
