Brooke Little has long been a disability advocate and it was her passion that drove her to launch Care for You Staffing Solutions.
After observing a gap in the local marketplace, Brooke established the business to provide highly skilled and qualified support workers for the welfare sector.
“I started the business almost three years ago because I could see that the needs of disabled people here in the Hunter were not being adequately met”, Brooke said.
“I had the industry experience, knowledge and connections, as well as the recruitment and management skills required to run a staffing agency. It was my first business venture and it's all about providing better service‚Äì more professional, more respectful and more reliable.”
From humble home office beginnings in Redhead, Care for You Staffing Solutions has rapidly grown and now services major welfare organisations including The Samaritans Foundation and Life Without Barriers, employing over 60 people.
Recently awarded the Young Entrepreneur Award in the Lake Macquarie Business Excellence Awards Brooke believes her entrepreneurial success factors include focus, passion, being different from the rest and staying true to your vision.
“Making your idea a reality requires initiative, consistency and a huge amount of work. Get advice and support in areas you are not expert at so you can focus on the core business.”
“It's also imperative to value your employees – always mentor and reward them because they’re your greatest asset. But most of all, love your customers. You’re in business to make them happy and that’s how you’ll grow.”
With the recent launch of DisabilityCare in Hunter, Care For You Staffing Solutions is set for busy times ahead.
