Recognised for its commitment to providing a place where women of any age, shape, size or ability can improve their health and lifestyle, Lissome has developed a significant following and level of support from locals for its unique approach.
Now entering its biggest year yet, the female only gym is set to open the doors to its second site in Maitland and launch a new app in the coming months that will further help females along their health and wellbeing journeys.
After opening its facility in Carrington in 2015, membership has grown to 160 and the gym is now bursting at the seams. The need for a second Hunter facility was clear to Founder, Nerida Bint, who has now created a map of new locations for the business.
“We have women coming from all areas to visit the gym. I am proud that we are a destination and that if people want to come and visit Lissome, they do, but I can’t wait to have more sites so there is more accessibility for those who can’t make it to Carrington,” Nerida said.
The gym not only facilitates classes where women learn to become fit and strong, but also runs wellbeing seminars throughout the year for their members and encourage everyone to become a part of their community by joining for coffee and breakfast after a run session or Saturday morning workout.
“The aim is to affect as many women as possible in a positive way and 2019 is looking pretty big for us,” Nerida said.
The gym will also be the first of its kind for the Maitland and Hunter Valley region.
Adding to what will already be a busy year for Lissome, Nerida has also recently launched The Lissome Podcast. Available on Apple podcasts and Spotify, during each episode Nerida sits down with a likeminded personality in entrepreneurship, health, fitness and mindset and discusses a broad range of topics for her audience.
In the pipeline there is also a merchandise store being developed which will be made available to all Lissome members and the public.
