Entries for Lake Macquarie Business Excellence Awards extended

Due to overwhelming demand, the closing date for the Lake Macquarie Business Excellence Awards 2018 has been extended until Friday 1 June.

The Lake Macquarie Business Excellence Awards is an initiative of the Business Growth Centre, with the aim being to recognise the achievement of businesses within the Lake Macquarie Area. Businesses who enter the awards will receive free marketing and promotion, increase business credibility, get to meet experts in the field and network with other business professionals.

Business Growth Centre CEO, Graeme Cotton said that entering the 2018 Lake Macquarie Business Awards is “a must for any local business looking to grow”.

The awards feature 12 categories and four major awards. The award categories focus on a range of business functionalities including customer service, innovation, entrepreneurship, digital technology, contribution to the region, start-up superstar and sustainability. In 2018, the awards will also celebrate businesses that have exported their products internationally with the introduction of the Excellence in Export award category.

Some of the main prizes to be won include six leadership coaching sessions with local business woman Heidi Pollard valued at $6,000, an unlimited 2018 VIP Movie Card for two people thanks to Event Cinemas, Newcastle Herald Print Advertising Package worth $5,000 and a 12-month Xero package to the value of $2,000.

An information session for the Lake Macquarie Business Excellence Awards will be held on Wednesday 16 May at DaSH Cowork. Michelle Ebbin, Founder of Jetproof and winner of a 2017 Excellence Award, will be guest speaking.

Dantia has come on board as Major Corporate Sponsor of the awards for the fourth year running. Dantia CEO, Peter Francis said the Excellence Awards provide an opportunity to recognise the significant contribution local companies are making to the Hunter region.

“Our focus is to drive economic development in Lake Macquarie through supporting the growth of new and existing businesses, attracting major investment and accelerating the delivery of infrastructure,” Peter said.

“Lake Macquarie businesses play an important role in expanding our economy and providing diverse job opportunities for local people. The awards showcase the remarkable talent, products, services and initiatives born out of this region and we are pleased to be involved with such a high calibre event.”

Major sponsors of this year’s awards include Dantia, St. George Bank, Nationwide Super and SafeWork.

With more than 600 entries and over 50 winning businesses from the past six years, the 2018 Lake Macquarie Business Excellence Awards will continue to celebrate the excellence of business achievement within the city.
