With more than 530 entries and over 50 winning businesses from the past five years, the 2017 Lake Macquarie Business Excellence Awards will continue to celebrate the pursuit of excellence and business achievement within the city this year.
Entries for the 2017 Lake Macquarie Business Excellence Awards are now open. Lake Macquarie businesses of all shapes and sizes are encouraged to enter online and take advantage of this opportunity to share their story, promote their point of difference and celebrate their achievements.
The Lake Macquarie Business Excellence Awards is an initiative of the Business Growth Centre. The aim of the awards is to recognise the businesses working within Lake Macquarie to provide excellent products, services and so much more.
Business Growth Centre Manager, Brett Gleeson believes entering the 2017 Lake Macquarie Business Excellence Awards is a true indication of a businesses’ ongoing effort to improve and grow.
“The awards will not only give businesses the opportunity to profile themselves and their achievements, but will also give them the chance to reflect upon various business practices. The entry process can assist business owners with planning for a positive future and can help them identify areas of growth and improvement,” Brett said.
The 2017 Lake Macquarie Business Excellence Awards was launched at the Lake Macquarie Business Network breakfast. The three major award winners of 2016, including Amber Moncrieff of Hunter Plastic Surgery, Jennifer Holland of Throat Scope and Nathan Franks of Dynamic Business Technologies, came together at the breakfast to discuss the topic – a winning formula: passion, purpose and persistence.
The three speakers shared their secrets of success and provided a wonderful introduction to this year’s awards by offering an insight into how their businesses benefited from not just the win, but from being named a finalist and from the entry process itself.
Amber Moncrieff, 2016 Lake Macquarie Business Person of the Year, explained that the Lake Macquarie Business Excellence Awards is a valuable experience for all business owners.
“The Lake Macquarie Business Excellence Awards are fantastic on many levels,” Amber said.
“There is a certain benefit to the focus and discipline required when it comes to writing the submission and presenting tangible achievements and the promotional opportunities that are available to those who become finalists and/or winners are endless.

The 2017 Lake Macquarie Business Excellence Awards features 12 award categories and three major awards. The award categories focus on a range of business functionalities, including branding, marketing, business practices, workplace culture, training and development, customer service, innovation, entrepreneurship and sustainability.
In 2017, the awards will also celebrate businesses that have embraced new and emerging technologies with the introduction of the Excellence in Digital Technology Award category.
Nine award winners for this year’s awards will have the opportunity to showcase their achievements on the state stage thanks to partnerships that have been established with the NSW Business Chamber Awards and the NSW SafeWork Awards.
