The Bean Counters Ball 2019 Committee has been announced to support the annual charity fundraiser. The Ball raises funds to support youth and education in the Hunter Region.
The event will be held on Friday 25 October as a joint initiative between local members of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and CPA Australia, and has raised almost $180,000 since its launch in 2011.
Committee Chairperson, Bernadette Smyth said the committee will help support and grow the event to further support young people in the community who need it.
2019 committee members are Bernadette Smyth (Chair), Joshua Robb (Co-Chair), Casey Hammond (Treasurer), Jeff Bell (Secretary), Hayden Asper, Andrew Beveridge, Chad Stead, Gemma Williams, Sarah Scott, Laura Dawson and Adrian Collins.
“The committee are dedicated to creating another fantastic night and making a difference in the community. Hearing from the young people who we support is always a highlight at the event, as they share their story and the impact of our support,” Bernadette said.
“We are proud to again partner with Samaritans and the Hunter TAFE Foundation in 2019. The committee believes that our profession has a responsibility to support young people in our community and we look forward to continuing to provide further opportunities for young people.
“This event would not be possible without the support of our sponsors and we are currently seeking gold and silver level sponsors to support this year’s event. We’d be very happy to hear from local businesses keen to get on board and support the event and young people in our region.”
350 people from the region’s accounting and business community are expected at the black-tie event at the Newcastle Exhibition and Convention Centre (NEX).
Tickets will be available soon.
