With winners announced on Friday night, the NEWi Awards, now in its third year, gives recognition to digital excellence and acknowledges the very best digital talent in Australasia.
Established by the Lunaticks Society of Newcastle, this year the awards saw an increase in nominations of more than 300 per cent, with winners decided via secret ballot voting from their 100+ eligible members.
Lunaticks Society of Newcastle founder Gordon Whitehead said that in order to reflect the breadth of the digital economy the NEWi Awards have been expanded to thirteen categories in 2013.
