The Newcastle Show powered by Greater Bank, will celebrate its 120th anniversary on 4, 5 & 6 March 2022.
Over the past 120 years The Show has endured adversity, from war, storms and now the worldwide pandemic COVID, but it still has a place in the hearts of thousands of showgoers.
“With the announcement of the Supercars event postponement today, our local community will still have a huge amount of great entertainment over the weekend of 4, 5 and 6 March at The Show,” recently appointed General Manager Emma Spencer said.
“Our professional and experienced team of staff and volunteers, make up the strong backbone that will deliver this amazing event in such an uncertain time. It’s also especially important as we salute our frontline workers for their amazing efforts over the past two years”.
We also commend our major sponsor Greater Bank for their ongoing support of The Show. We are fortunate to partner with a proud Hunter-based organisation that shares our deep connection to the community and culture of our region,” Spencer continued.
This Show is one of Australia’s largest regional annual events, attracting on average more than 50,000+ people each year. It’s an iconic celebration of Australian culture, from our rural traditions to our modern-day lifestyles, providing unique experiences for everyone.
Each year for three days in March, the country and city join together to enjoy agricultural competitions, animal experiences, entertainment, carnival fun and much more. The rich heritage and scale of The Show make it a prized means of communication utilised by some of the region’s biggest, best-known and loved brands.
Returning in 2022 will be the familiar and popular showbags, over 100 high adrenaline, family and kid’s amusements and games, three days of continuous on stage and roving entertainment, interactive industry exhibits in the Exhibition Centre.
There will also be BMX riders, camel and lawn mower races, centre ring entertainment featuring show jumping, woodchop, post splitting and all the traditional components of an Agricultural Show – cattle, chooks furry scaley and cute friends for the kids to enjoy.
The motor show will keep enthusiasts happy with vehicles from yesterday, today and more on display. Fabulous live bands from 6pm and to top it off, the spectacular fireworks display on Friday and Saturday nights at 9pm.
In the wake of two manic years which devastated community events and many industries, THIS SHOW WILL BE GREATER – March 4, 5 and 6 – The Newcastle Show powered by Greater Bank! Tickets are now on sale at newcastleshow.com.au.
