Local photographer John Lechner is preparing to exhibit a collection of his Hunter Valley images in the United States during November this year.
John will visit Philadelphia and Brooklyn where he will exhibit his work as part of the international RAW artist movement, across two individual showcases.
John recently exhibited at the RAW Showcase held in Newcastle on during July, an opportunity that has opened many doors since. RAW is an international community made up of creative individuals across the globe and currently operates in nearly 60 cities across the United States, Australia, Canada and London.
“Being involved in the Newcastle RAW Showcase has allowed me to be eligible to participate in RAW events all over the world. Exhibiting in the United States has always been a dream of mine and as an artist I see New York as having a real predominance in the art world,” John said.
“As I evolve as an artist I see the US market being a key growth place in showcasing my work and I plan to hold a solo exhibition there next year. This current opportunity will hopefully set the foundations in achieving this vision I have.”
Having recently returned from shooting in Cambodia and Iceland, John is no stranger to travelling overseas to capture stunning imagery.
“While I travel the world to bring breathtaking images home, it’s now time for me to fly the Aussie flag overseas and show off the beauty that is in our own backyard.”
John will be taking limited edition Hunter Valley pieces including Bolwarra Golden Morning (pictured) and Reflections on Lostock with him overseas.
