NGM Group supports Awabakal facilities after severe weather

Awabakal Cardiff Medical Clinic and Awabakal Preschool – Glendale have received a $10,000 boost from NGM Group to support recovery efforts following significant storm damage in May 2025.

The donation will help uplift the clinic’s Elders Area, creating a safer and more accessible space, while also funding painting of the preschool’s internal facilities.

Awabakal CEO Jason Smith said the funding was vital to maintaining community access.

“Our Cardiff clinic and Glendale preschool are vital hubs for the local Aboriginal community and maintaining their access is crucial. The storms in May this year caused significant damage to both of our facilities and forced us to put a pop-up clinic in our corporate office space which is not as culturally welcoming to our community as we would like it to be,” Mr Smith said.

“We are extremely grateful to NGM Group for this donation which will assist us to restore our Elders Area and Glendale preschool, to make them more accessible, inviting spaces that the community is proud of.”

NGM Group Chief Distribution Officer Paul Juergens said the organisation was proud to support the local community.

“NGM Group is a proud partner of Awabakal and we are pleased to support their recovery efforts after the recent storms,” Mr Juergens said.

“We hope that this donation can make a positive impact on Awabakal’s Cardiff Hub and Glendale Preschool to create a safe and welcoming environment for their community.”

The contribution is part of a broader $50,000 support package from NGM Group and its brands, Greater Bank and Newcastle Permanent, to assist not-for-profit and grassroots organisations affected by the severe weather across the Hunter and Mid North Coast.
