When it comes to being a qualified medical practitioner, knowing how to run your numbers is hardly on the same scale of importance as understanding how the body works.

That’s where Newcastle entrepreneur Gareth Williams comes in.

The 33-year-old recently launched Best Case Specialist Medical Consultants, a boutique consulting firm passionate about providing strategic advice to medical professionals at all stages of their private practice journey.

Gareth has spent the past seven years working in the pharmaceutical and medical industries in Newcastle and the Hunter, and has seen countless doctors and allied health professionals struggle with the process of setting up a practice.

While outsourcing is an obvious solution to their woes, Gareth said there was no single point of contact available that could co-ordinate access to the various experts needed throughout the process – so he decided to create one himself.

“Working in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries, I realised there was a distinct lack of services available to support specialists, general practitioners and dentists who had completed their training and were looking to start up their first private practice,” Gareth said.

“There were also very few businesses that could provide a comprehensive solution for the consolidation and growth of established medical practices.

“I have wanted to establish my own business for a number of years. I love the thought of building a business from nothing other than an idea, and being able to set its strategic and creative direction.

“I could see there was a gap in the market so I decided to establish Best Case Specialist Medical Consultants with one clear vision – to partner with medical professionals and provide them with an integrated, end-to-end solution to develop the optimal private practice.”

Gareth has assembled a team of consultants able to provide expertise across a range of fields, from project management and medical room fit-outs to digital marketing, finance, insurance, IT and recruitment. These specialists work together to ensure the private practice is professional, profitable, operates efficiently and grows effectively.

Clients can choose from a range of customisable packages depending on their needs, allowing Gareth and the Best Case team to take care of the process and the paperwork, while they focus on taking care of their patients.

While Gareth is continuing in his current role job while he establishes the new business, all his hard work is already paying off with a number of clients engaging Best Case and its specialist services within days of its official launch.

“My biggest hope is to build a company that provides the highest quality service to each and every medical professional that partners with the Best Case team,” Gareth said.

“I have a genuine passion for the relationship between health, medicine and business and want the goals of every medical professional we work with to become a reality.”
