A $107 million project is set to transform 727 Hunter Street into an A-Grade commercial business centre in the heart of Newcastle.
The official ground-breaking ceremony was held on Friday by Lord Mayor Nuatali Nelmes, along with the team behind the ambitious development: HYG, Core Project Group (CPG), and PDS Group.
The thirteen-storey modern building will offer 11,000 sqm of commercial space, available for those businesses opting for open floor plans and a naturally-lit office environment.
Tony Zhang of HYG said he was excited to introduce 727 HQ as an innovative A-Grade commercial building.
“At HYG, we have a desire for architectural excellence and this goal remains steadfast for the 727 HQ project, which features elegant yet functional features including a rooftop terrace set to inspire and premium end of trip facilities to cater for active lifestyles,” he said.
“We believe that there is a significant demand for quality office stock in Newcastle to support the ongoing growth of local businesses and the economy.”
Over the past decade, CPG has delivered around 100,000 square meters of gross floor area to Newcastle West, totalling almost $400 million in asset value.
As the final piece in the Birdwood Precinct in Newcastle’s West new CBD, Courtney Knight at CPG said he was thrilled to see this project come to life.
“Since the design of our visions for the Birdwood Precinct in 2015, we’ve been focused heavily on creating a service-based precinct in Newcastle’s new CBD. With the completion of the Holiday Inn Express, RSL Lifecare vertical village and Newcastle first vertical Childcare Centre, this project is the jewel in the crown of the precinct both in its scale and locality,” Courtney said.
“At CPG we’re focused on designing and delivering quality and innovative turn-key projects to the highest standards, and we’re excited to set a whole new benchmark with 727 HQ.
“A state-of-the-art project that has been designed to reflect a new era of commercial office accommodation where business and people alike can thrive and inspire,” she concluded.
Developed with sustainability front of mind, 727 HQ has been designed to achieve a NABERS 4.5-star rating.
Combining class with convenience, the building will feature retail space, a multi-level car parking for over 200 cars, extensive bike storage and in-house facilities including showers, lockers and changing rooms.
