A Hunter based law firm has bolstered its depth of experience in commercial law and governance with the appointment of Megan Grainger as Associate Counsel.

Keystone Lawyers Director, Lou Stojanovski, said Megan will head up the Commercial Law division at the Darby Street based firm.

“Megan’s ten years plus experience in other regional law firms, strong business acumen and her policy and governance experience in government made her the right choice to serve Keystone’s growing commercial law client base,” Lou said.

Megan’s legal experience spans a diverse range of commercial matters from purchase and sale of business, company and trust structuring, estate planning and estate administration, complex property matters as well as insolvency.

Her clients have included individuals, small to medium businesses, community based not-for-profits, registered clubs, as well as local government and regionally based state corporations.

“I am passionate about working with people to solve problems,” Megan said.

Megan has degrees in law and mathematics from the University of Wollongong and is currently completing a Graduate Diploma of Applied Risk Management and Corporate Governance.

She worked for law firms in Taree and Bowral. She was also a Policy and Governance Adviser to a local Council and a Federal MP and comes to Keystone from the University of Newcastle, where she was Associate Director for Governance Advisory Services. She has also served as Chair of the NSW Right to Information & Privacy Practitioners Network.

Hunter-based Keystone Lawyers was founded by Lou Stojanovski in 2009. The firm specialises in the fields of construction, engineering, mining, commercial, development and property law, serving clients in the Hunter, Australia, New Zealand, China and other parts of Asia.
