Growth prompts appointment of new director

Newcastle’s Maxim Accounting has expanded its business by welcoming back Scott Norrish as a director.

Scott started his career with Maxim and learned the ropes for almost a decade before spreading his wings.

“I wanted to experience business ownership and feel what business owners felt,” Scott said. “I believe this has made me a better business advisor. In recent years I have developed a greater expertise in self managed superannuation funds and Cloud based accounting systems, as I identified early that these services were more in demand by business owners.”

“Maxim owners Steve (Roxby) and Chris (Sneddon) shaped my career. They taught me about the importance of client service, and how to build strong relationships. Maxim has built a reputation as one of Newcastle’s leading accounting and advisory businesses, so I am very happy to be back.”

Steve Roxby said Maxim was enjoying growth as many business owners themselves were looking to take advantage of business opportunities.

“While some people are feeling uncertain in these economic times, others are seeing opportunities to diversify and actually grow their businesses,” Steve explained. “It is encouraging that changing business conditions continue to unearth new and exciting opportunities.”

Scott is a Chartered Accountant, business advisor and an expert in self managed superannuation. In his career he has worked with a diverse range of clients over many industry sectors. Scott is passionate about working with business owners to improve profitability and ultimately business value.

Chris Sneddon said Scott’s return was a valuable addition to the team and would strengthen the business in the areas of self managed superannuation and business succession services.

“We are finding business owners want more support and commercial advice with strategic planning so we are expanding our business and our expertise to meet market demands.”
