Novotel Newcastle Beach has overhauled conferences and events, launching their new concept – InBalance Meetings. The concept introduces a focus on health and wellbeing for conference delegates.
Novotel Newcastle Beach General Manager, Thomas Klotz, says it is about making delegates feel motivated and inspired to succeed when they conference with us.
“These small touches go a long way in making sure that meetings at Novotel are highly productive,” Thomas said.
Green apples line the tables and refreshment stations are available where guests can snack on nutritious jars of trail mix throughout the meeting. The function spaces at the hotel have undergone a soft upgrade featuring pillars splashed with vibrant decals to create a space that feels uplifting and energising. Colourful InBalance flipcharts replace the stale white boards of regular meetings spaces.
Overhauled and curated by renowned nutritionist Michele Chevalley-Hedge of ahealthyview.com, InBalance menus have been created with clean, whole food ingredients with minimal sugar to support concentration and sustain productivity. Healthy fats have been incorporated to support brain functioning and different types of hot and cold beverages keep delegates hydrated between meal periods.
“Meeting planners can also choose to add fit balls and yoga mats to their conference to encourage delegates to engage in light exercise or stretches throughout the meeting facilitating a relaxed environment critical for deep thinking,” Thomas said.
“In order to maximise productivity and to keep delegates upbeat and engaged, we have introduced complimentary timeout activities into the InBalance Meetings experience,” Thomas continued.
These include:
- A virtual head to toe 12-minute yoga stretch that can be completed in business attire while listening to a guided meditation
- Meditainment, a 20 minute audio-visual relaxation experience using multi-sensory techniques to clear the mind so delegates can focus on the tasks at hand
- InBalance local area maps encourage delegates to revive the senses and explore the city on a 20 minute walk or run, relieving stress and fostering creativity
