Collaborative workspaces provide benefits for business

For anyone working in business here it shouldn’t come as a surprise to you that a professional services firm like Rethink Financial Group is jumping on the collaborative / co-working space bandwagon.

For us it’s been a very organic, natural and evolutionary journey to develop a co-working space. At the beginning of 2015, we rebranded from Newcastle Financial Planning and extended our family of professional services to include: Financial Planning, Accounting, Law and Personal Development/Life Coaching. As soon as we moved into our new office with our new family of services we experienced the impact of having a variety of new personalities, energy and skills in the one office working together was immense. We now have a collective team from all walks of life and professions to share and bounce ideas off.

Not only does this make for a high-energy infections positive environment to work in, but also the flow-on effects for clients are also huge. Clients now receive a full service advice offering and benefit from the expertise of a portfolio of professionals working alongside each other in the same office.

We believe the Newcastle environment just demands co-working spaces. There is an explosion of creative talent and entrepreneurial start-ups flourishing all around the city. Often the journey of an entrepreneur, especially in the start-up phase can be quite lonely. Co-working spaces ensure you will always be surrounded by like-minded, talented individuals and teams.

There is even research by a company aptly named deskmag that indicates start-ups who operate in a co-working space are four times more likely to succeed. Much of this is believed to be attributed to the leverage that comes with co-working spaces: your network is your net-worth, you won’t be breaking the bank and access to skilled trades from all sorts of industries.

Personally, I can’t stop raving about how lucky are we to live in such an innovative city that’s brought us the Newcastle Live!, Smart Future Cities event, Renew Newcastle, DiG Festival, Hunter Headline, The Hunter Collective, Passionate People With Purpose and the Revitalising of Newcastle to name a few. It’s almost impossible to live or do business here and not be infected by this proactive and creative vibe.

Now with our awareness of what a collective team of people from different, or the same professions, can bring to a work environment and clients lives, we are recruiting external people and/or businesses to join us and leverage from the fruits of working in a co-working space.

Our new office includes some pretty awesome things like our coffee shop Recharge Espresso, breakout areas, a funky cafe space decked out with park benches and fake grass, daily meditation, lunch-time personal training sessions, a Dreamcatcher who works with all new clients to coach them on their journey to their most magnificent life and client meeting rooms where you can unleash your artistic side and draw to your heart’s content all over the walls. To share this space with us we have embraced the collaborative / co-working space concept and opened up our mezzanine spaces for rent in our funky new modern office.
