The University of Newcastle has announced that the nominations for their distinguished 2016 Alumni Awards are now open.
The UON Alumni Awards recognise and celebrate innovation, creativity and exceptional leadership of those graduates who inspire others through their local, national and international achievements. The program culminates in a gala Alumni Awards ceremony on Friday, 21 October 2016.
Director of Advancement, Office of Alumni and Philanthropy, International and Advancement Division, Rebecca Hazell, said the Alumni Awards recognise the most inspiring and exceptional UON graduates from a diverse range of backgrounds, both local and across the globe.
“Nominating a UON graduate that demonstrates excellence in their field, be it a friend, colleague or family member, provides the opportunity to recognise their outstanding achievements as well as sharing their amazing stories and ultimately inspiring others.”
There are nine award categories;
- Alumni Medal for Professional Excellence
- Newton-John Award for Innovation and Creativity
- Exceptional Community Service
- Regional Leadership Award
- National Leadership Award
- International Leadership Award
- Indigenous Alumni Award
- Beryl Nashar Young Researcher Award
- Young Alumni Award
