The annual Top Blokes Foundation charity golf day has raised $15,000 to fund regional youth mentoring and early intervention mental health programmes across the Hunter. Held during Men’s Health Week at Rydges Resort Hunter Valley, the corporate fundraising event was supported by lead partner The Mutual Bank alongside regional businesses and community stakeholders.
The capital generated from the event will directly fund the deployment of qualified youth workers to deliver structured peer mentoring across Hunter secondary educational institutions and regional workplaces. The organisation’s evidence-based curriculum targets risk reduction associated with youth substance use, anti-social behaviours, and acute mental health challenges.
The corporate engagement schedule included an interactive industry panel featuring Top Blokes Foundation representative Dan Allars, Head of People, Culture and Property at The Mutual Bank, Brooke Reynolds, and Director of Humphreys Advisory, Stephen Humphreys. A primary commercial feature of the tournament infrastructure was a $50,000 Hole-in-One corporate activation challenge sponsored by The Mutual Bank on the eighth hole.
Chief Member Officer of The Mutual Bank, Matthew Dunnill said institutional backing of grassroots youth initiatives provides necessary health infrastructure support for the region.
“We’re proud to have supported such a meaningful event for the Hunter. Raising $15,000 on the day is a fantastic result, and every dollar will help more young men access the support, connection and early intervention programs Top Blokes Foundation provides across our region. It was also wonderful to see the strong turnout and shared commitment from sponsors, supporters and community members,” Matthew said.
The foundation’s cumulative national footprint covers more than 25,000 mentored participants between the ages of 10 and 24. The expansion of its Hunter operations is sustained through corporate underwriting from regional businesses, including J&M Linemarking and Thomas and Clarke Real Estate.
Regional Coordinator for Greater Hunter at the Top Blokes Foundation, Aaron O’Driscoll noted that corporate sponsorship models lower operational barriers, allowing clinical and community service delivery to scale.
“We’re grateful for The Mutual Bank’s leadership and commitment to young men’s mental health. Events like this spark conversations that matter and help us continue delivering the programs that young men across the region depend on. The support we receive from local organisations allows us to reach more boys and make a real difference,” Aaron said.
