The Marketing GP expands Newcastle team with three new appointments

At a time when Hunter businesses are seeking more than just creative output, Carrington-based agency The Marketing GP has fortified its strategic core with three key hires. The arrival of Lauren Devine, Sam Jeffress, and Lauren Cappie-Wood marks a new chapter for the agency, providing the specialised expertise and increased  capability required to propel the region’s most ambitious brands forward.

The announcement comes at a time when the business has restructured its services, now offering clear, scalable solutions for everyone from enterprise clients to early-stage micro businesses.

Bringing two decades of experience to the team and a well-known reputation for her marketing expertise, Lauren Devine joins The Marketing GP as a Marketing Strategist. Her extensive background spans media, startups, property, and strategic leadership, making her an asset for clients seeking authentic brand development.

“Newcastle has produced some incredible businesses, and there’s so much more to come. I’m genuinely excited to work alongside local brands to help them grow – bringing the marketing strategy and execution that takes them to the next level,” Lauren said.

Her expertise in nurturing the next generation of leaders and her entrepreneurial insight align with the agency’s commitment to providing high-level strategy that resonates with the Hunter’s innovative spirit.

Sam Jeffress joins the agency as a Graphic Designer and Marketer, blending creative storytelling with a strategic mindset.

A lifelong learner of design trends and technology, Sam’s expertise extends beyond traditional graphics into brand architecture, email marketing, and integrated creative campaigns. Whether developing print materials or complex website ecosystems, he ensures every detail remains cohesive and serves as a functional foundation for business success.

There is a real sense of innovation happening in Newcastle and the broader Hunter region right now. I’m thrilled to be part of a team that helps these ambitious brands punch above their weight.

Rounding out the new appointments is Lauren Cappie-Wood, who steps into the role of Online Marketing Officer after moving from a Sydney agency to Newcastle.

Her experience in managing large-scale advertising budgets and navigating complex algorithms ensures that client marketing efforts deliver a measurable return on investment. Meticulously organised and results-driven, Lauren manages multi-faceted digital projects and website content with a focus on bridging the gap between a brand’s vision and its audience’s needs.

“There’s a unique energy in the Newcastle business community right now, and I’m excited to help our clients navigate the digital landscape to find their ideal audience,” Lauren said.

The Marketing GP Managing Director, Holly Martin said these appointments represent a continued investment in the agency’s ability to provide a one-stop shop for regional businesses.

“Our mission has always been to provide clarity and results for our clients. By bringing Lauren, Sam and Lauren into the team, we continue enhancing our ability to offer everything from high-level strategy to creative execution and digital optimisation under one roof,” Holly said.

Based out of their Carrington office, The Marketing GP continues to support the business community by providing tailored, integrated marketing solutions that leverage the expertise of a diverse and growing team.

To complement this expansion, the agency has refined its service model to provide dedicated pathways based on organisational maturity, offering essential building blocks like logos and website direction for micro startups, strategic alignment and scaling systems for SMBs and senior-led brand architecture and CMO leadership for enterprise organisations.
