Operating to the highest standards has always been a goal for IT provider, Strategic Group.

As part of this ethos, the team decided to proactively seek certifications in Information Security – both of which they achieved late last year.

Strategic Group’s Director of Business Development, Aron Robertson said the certifications recognise that they are operating to the levels of international best practice for cyber security.

“Receiving the certifications was a huge achievement for our team. It means how we handle and protect data, how we train our staff and the security processes we follow are all to a high standard,” Aron said.

The main certification – ISO 27001 Information Security Management – means their business is qualified to manage the security of assets such as financial information, intellectual property, employee details or information entrusted by third parties.

The ISO 27017 Cloud Security Certification means they provide a secure cloud system through their own VAULT platform.

“Being recognised on a global level means our clients have additional evidence of what they have already experiences – that our team will operates to the highest standards for cyber security practices,” Aron continued.

To achieve these certifications, a company must show it has a systematic and ongoing approach to managing sensitive company and customer information.

Co-CEO and Director of Operations, Mark Boswell said Strategic Group is unique in their certification.

“It’s rare to see a mid-sized organisation, like Strategic Group, gain these certifications, as many businesses don’t have the resources available to achieve the cyber security standards,” Mark said.

In order to maintain the certifications, Strategic Group will undergo regular follow-up audits to confirm they are continuing to comply with the ISO standards.
