Shaw Gidley, the largest specialist insolvency and reconstruction firm in the region, has appointed Jeff Shute as director.
The new role builds upon Jeff’s existing tenure as a senior manager with the company where he was responsible for its corporate division. In his director role, Jeff will focus on driving Shaw Gidley’s growth in the Hunter and Central Coast regions, and he will also take formal liquidation appointments.
Shaw Gidley principal James Shaw said that Jeff’s new appointment will allow the company to capitalise on his extensive experience and specialist knowledge and position it to meet the growing demand for its insolvency and reconstruction services, particularly in the mining and construction sectors.
“We congratulate Jeff on his appointment and welcome him to the senior management team,” James said.
“His expertise in corporate insolvencies and workouts will be instrumental in expanding our service offering while ensuring we continue to provide organisations experiencing financial distress, with the best options for their circumstances.”
“In particular, we have experienced increased demand for our specialist services in the mining and construction industries, and ensuring we can support clients in this sector will form a part of Jeff’s expanded responsibilities.”
Commenting on his new role, Jeff said he is excited to expand on their ability to deliver services within the region.
“Increasing our ability to support underperforming businesses with options to turn their organisation around, and where possible avoid liquidation, has been a focus of mine for more than ten years,” Jeff said.
Jeff holds a Bachelor of Commerce and is a member of the Australian Restructuring Insolvency & Turnaround Association. He is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia and is a Registered Liquidator.
