In a first for the Hunter, ATUNE Health Centres has launched a team of interdisciplinary General Practitioners.
With a combined 30 years’experience, the addition of General Practitioners to the ATUNE community is reforming the traditional approach to healthcare in the Hunter region.
Principal General Practitioner, Dr Michael Ireson said he is happy to be a part of the ATUNE team.
“I’m delighted to be a part of a team of practitioners who desire to work together professionally for their patients to see positive changes in all health outcomes,” Michael said.
“There is a shared understanding at ATUNE that the best healthcare can only be achieved by addressing these areas and understanding their impact on each other.”
ATUNE Health Centres use an innovative model of integrated care that is transforming the health system worldwide.
Integrated care is the seamless provision of medical, therapeutic and preventative healthcare; with an emphasis for combining complementary, allied health, psychological and medical services in one facility.
This philosophy of integration allows health professionals to work together to provide patients with comprehensive and tailored treatment.
Director of ATUNE, Simon Ashley said the team responds to a shifting mindset around healthcare.
“Many are seeking a different model of service with longer appointment times, integration between disciplines, reduced waiting times and care that is client focused rather than disease driven; with an emphasis on preventative medicine.”
ATUNE Health Centres offer patients access to physiotherapy, osteopathy, midwifery, massage therapy, psychology, social work, behavioural therapy, counselling, breathing therapy, podiatry, exercise physiology, naturopathy and dietetics.
The inclusion of an interdisciplinary General Practice completes a significant milestone in the integrated care provided at ATUNE and establishes a full complement of healthcare services.
