Pride of workmanship continues to shine through in Newcastle

The Pride of Workmanship Program has enabled employers in the local community to help employees achieve the goal of job satisfaction, and publicly recognise them for their efforts.

With a club history spanning almost a century, the Rotary Club of Newcastle has long been a supporter of the Pride of Workmanship Awards Program since its inception in 1976 by the Rotary Club of Pennant Hills.

On 16 May 2022, the Rotary Club of Newcastle presented Pride of Workmanship Awards to those who display the outstanding qualities of someone who takes pride in their work and their business.

Newcastle Public Image Officer, Amanda Suanders, said “The Pride of Workmanship Award is designed to acknowledge an employee, irrespective of age or vocation, who, in the eyes of his or her employer, displays outstanding qualities in terms dedication and commitment to their work.”

This year’s finalists included Jo-Anne Buckingham from Got Your Back Sista, Jessica Cahill from City Pharmacy, Jon Campbell from H L Mullane & Son, Ryan Field from Teterin Engineering and Joe Pfeifer from GBE Group.

Taking out the win on the night was Teterin Engineering’s workshop supervisor, Ryan Field, nominated by Peter Burgess.  The Rotary Club of Newcastle Pride of Workmanship Award finalists were all in attendance and accompanied by their nominators on the night to celebrate this amazing achievement.

Rotary Club of Newcastle President, Pat Glass, said “Our club have an incredibly rich history of being part of Newcastle.”

“Being able to recognise some of the amazing work being done every day by every day workers is truly an honour,” he concluded.
