This year, at least one Newcastle-based Virtual Assistant (VA) has been nominated in each of the five awards categories of the Australian Virtual Assistant Awards.
Each year, the awards are held to both recognise and honour the dedicated work of Australia’s best in the Virtual Assistant Industry.
For the Newcastle Virtual Assistants Network, co-founded by local VAs Jane Ekholm and Adrienne Donnelly, this years’ awards are exceptionally special.
“We were so thrilled to learn that 30 per cent of the award nominations were members of the Newcastle VA Network,” Jane said.
“It really is a true reflection of the dedication and commitment to the work our members are doing, both for their clients and the industry as a whole.
“It’s so fantastic to see this recognition on a national scale,” Jane said.
“Our number one goal for the Newcastle Virtual Assistants is to support VAs with a combination of our unique skills and experience, grow the industry collaboratively and pave the way for future VAs across Australia,” Adrienne said.
“Regardless of the outcome of the awards night at the end of the month, we are so proud of our community and all the Newcastle nominees.
“To be a finalist in any of these categories is a huge achievement and we hope that each nominee takes a moment to pause and take it all in.”
Founder of the Australian Virtual Assistants Awards, Amy Dawe wanted to find a way to bring VAs front and centre to celebrate the collective impact the industry has on businesses. She believes the VA community that has been built in Newcastle has had such a positive impact on the industry.
“Jane and Adrienne are to be commended for the incredible community they are building in and around Newcastle,” Amy said.
“Their focus on support, encouragement and connection has made such a positive impact on the industry and I absolutely feel that this has been directly reflected by the presence of Newcastle VAs in this years’ awards.
“Our awards are a celebration of the VA industry as a whole. My favourite part is personally sharing the comments that those nominating make directly with the nominee. It’s the most rewarding, feel good time of year.”
The Newcastle Virtual Assistants Network is made up of more than 150 active members.
The network is an opportunity for businesses to tap into a wealth of knowledge and experience and offers a ‘match-making’ style of service for local businesses looking to find the right VA for their team.
Additionally, the network exists to provide further education to businesses on ways to utilise a Virtual Assistant in their organisation.
