Greg Elsworthy, the HIA Hunter Immediate Past President has been elected a National Director of the Housing Industry Association (HIA), the voice of Australia’s residential building industry.
Greg Elsworthy is the Principal Solicitor of Elsworthy Solicitors, a Newcastle based law firm that specialises in building and construction law, property law, and planning and development law.
Greg first began his involvement with HIA providing pro bono legal advice and training to HIA members in the late 1990’s. He has since served continuously on the HIA Hunter Regional Executive Committee since 2006 and HIA’s National Industrial Relations and Legal Committee since 2007. Greg became HIA Hunter Regional President in 2013, a position he held for two terms.
HIA Hunter Executive Director, Craig Jennion said that Greg’s new position is well deserved.
“One of four members to be recently elected to HIA’s Board of Directors, it was pleasing that the enormous contribution that Greg has made to HIA Hunter members and the broader Association for nearly two decades will continue with a national focus,” said Craig.
“With a strong understanding of the challenges those in the residential building and construction industry face daily, I’m certain that Greg will complement the skills and experience already present on the National Board of Directors.”
Greg said he is honoured to be elected to the board of Australia’s largest residential organisation.
“I look forward to building on the legacy of previous national board members by strengthening the capacity and capability of both the Association and its members.” said Craig.
HIA is Australia’s peak residential building, renovation and development industry association.
