Newcastle local amongst PwC Australia new additions to its partnership

PwC Australia welcomed 22 new admissions to its partnership recently, recognising these professionals for their skills and leadership. One new partner was Newcastle local, Anna Donoghoe.

Anna shared her thoughts saying, “I am really excited about the opportunity to help our local businesses as they navigate the changing business landscape – there is so much on the horizon with AI and environmental reporting changes and I can’t wait to help them as they position themselves for the future. I am fortunate to work alongside our PwC Australia National Sustainability Reporting and Assurance Leader – who is based here in Newcastle and as we help our clients navigate all of the Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) topics that are not typically captured by traditional financial reporting.”

These candidates are chosen based on their best-in-class client service and values-led approach to leadership. The specialised skills of this group also align with PwC Australia’s three-year strategy.

PwC Australia chief executive Kevin Burrowes said: “This is a wonderful career achievement for these individuals and a significant moment for our firm as we deliver on our new strategy, while continuing to implement our commitments to change.

“It’s clear that this group will help drive multidisciplinary support to our clients, helping them to navigate disruption, including technological, AI, economic uncertainty, skills shortages and rapidly-changing societal expectations.

“Our new partners’ unique strengths and capabilities are in sync with the key challenges facing our clients. They will play a leading role in realising our vision of becoming the leading professional services firm, built on the highest ethical and professional standards with integrity at our core,” Kevin said.

The new partners are:

  • Anna Donoghoe – Newcastle
  • Angeline Young – Sydney
  • Belinda Cogswell – Sydney (new to firm)
  • Cameron Carter – Sydney

  • Claire Benton – Perth

In addition, Jordan Yen has been admitted to the PNG partnership.

Of the new partners, most are internal admissions, 55 per cent are female, while 23 per cent are from a non-European diverse cultural background.

The admissions come as the firm continues to implement its commitments to change and rebuild trust with its people, clients and communities. Significant actions to date include the endorsement of an industry leading governance reform package, an overhaul of the firm’s risk management processes, and enhanced consequence management framework.

“We are proud of our progress to date, but acknowledge that comprehensive and lasting transformation does take time,” Kevin said.

“Our new partners are committed to leading their teams to deliver on our vision and commitments”

This announcement takes into account all partners admitted to the partnership in FY24, and therefore includes CEO Kevin Burrowes, who transferred his partnership to PwC Australia in July 2023.
