Newcastle lawyer a double finalist for national Partner of the Year 2024 awards

Newcastle Corporate and Commercial Lawyer, Suzie Leask is a finalist in two categories at the national Lawyers Weekly Partner of the Year Awards 2024: Corporate Partner of the Year and Commercial Partner of the Year.

The awards recognise professional development and innovation, showcasing individuals who are leading the way in the legal industry.

Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony at The Star, Sydney, on Thursday 20 June.

Suzie is a partner at national law firm Hall & Wilcox, which has a Newcastle office of more than 70 people. She is Office Partner in Charge (OPIC) of the Newcastle office.

She is a highly regarded specialist in corporate advisory and corporate governance, with extensive experience advising boards, directors and C-suite executives.

Suzie is also a trusted commercial advisor to businesses from SMEs to corporates, global brands to not-for-profits.

Specialising in commercial transactions, regulatory compliance, Australian Consumer Law, e-Commerce, ESG, privacy law and cyber risk, Suzie helps business owners and management, boards and in-house legal teams get commercial deals done and manage the diverse risks facing businesses.

She co-leads Hall & Wilcox’s Beyond Compliance board and executive training initiative, and co-hosts the firm’s Building better boards and leaders podcast series, which educates and upskills boards and executives to drive best practice governance, commercial innovation and regulatory compliance.

Suzie also sits on a number of local and national not-for-profit boards, including Hunternet and Connect for Purpose, and is recognised as a leader in the legal industry and business community.

Suzie said she was thrilled to receive double nominations for the prestigious national awards.
