New van donation drives Soul Hub’s mission forward

In a gesture of community support, Daracon Group has announced the donation of a freshly branded van to Soul Hub, a local charity dedicated to helping the disadvantaged and vulnerable in Newcastle.

This generous act is further bolstered by in-kind services from Trick Group and TD Media, showcasing a  collaborative effort to enhance the operations of Soul Hub.

Daracon Group has been a proud supporter of Soul Hub, contributing the Soul Ute since 2007. This fully serviced vehicle has played a critical role in Soul Hub’s food rescue operations, enabling them to collect food from various sources across Newcastle, such as Second Bite (Coles), Top Cuts, Gatway Care, and The Butchery on Brunker, to name a few.

For Soul Hub, food rescue happens in rain, hail or shine; seeing that need Daracon Group partnered with Trick Group to provide a custom-designed van that will replace the Soul Ute.

The new Soul Vanis going to better equip the roster of volunteers to preserve perishable food items during transport, regardless of the weather.

Adam Kelly of Daracon Group expressed the significance of this long-standing partnership.

“Daracon and Soul Hub’s relationship is extremely important as they have been helping those in need within our local community for over 20 years,” Adam said.

“Our contributions, including the Soul Ute, have had a very positive impact on people’s lives. We are so lucky that we can call on some of our suppliers including Trick Group and TD Media to join us in supporting Soul Hub.”

CEO of Soul Hub, Rick Prosser shared his gratitude for Daracon’s unwavering support.

“We at Soul Hub are very grateful for all the contributions Daracon has made since 2007. The new van will enable us to rescue more food and improve the experience for our volunteers,” Rick said.

“Over the last 17 years Daracon’s in-kind donation of the Soul Ute has gone a long way in supporting our community. We look forward to the future with our new Soul Van.”

In addition to Daracon’s donation, Trick Group has generously provided custom wrapping for the van, complete with Soul Hub branding to ensure it acts like a billboard on wheels.

TD Media also contributed their expertise, ensuring that the entire project received the attention and visibility it deserved through professional videography services.

Situated in the heart of Newcastle’s CBD, each week Soul Hub provides hundreds of free meals to some of the most vulnerable in our community and connects guests to a wide range of ever-expanding critical support services.

These include Soul social work and medical clinics, podiatry, audiology, chiropractic, legal and accommodation services, Centrelink, hairdressing, Service NSW and NDIS.

With a dedicated team of 280+ volunteers, Soul Hub is more than just a meal provider; it is a beacon of hope and support for the community, fostering connections and strengthening community bonds.

Tickets are also now on sale for A Taste of Soul where individuals and corporates have the opportunity to wine and dine at Soul Hub. Attendees will receive a close-up look at Soul’s inner world, a guided tour of the facility showcasing the extensive work of Soul within Newcastle city, hear stories of how Soul has played a pivotal role in the transformation of some of the lives of others.

Included are nibbles, a two-course meal prepared by the Soul volunteer foodies, fine beverages and some great tunes.
