Over the weekend Murray’s Craft Brewing Co. won another gold medal for its locally brewed beer. This brings their gold medal tally to three in the past month and achieving a 100 per cent medalling success rate for all beers entered in the past two awards programs.
Its flagship brew, Murray’s Angry Man Pale Ale, took gold in its category at this year’s Craft Beer Awards, run by the Craft Beer Industry Association (CBIA). Murray’s Wild Thing Imperial Stout achieved a silver medal, with FRED IPA and MoonBoy Golden Ale receiving bronze.
The CBIA awards are open only to Australian breweries and aim to showcase the best of Australian brewing. This year 92 breweries submitted just under 500 beers for judging.
Brewery owner, Murray Howe, is particularly pleased with the brewery’s medalling success rate.
“The gold medal wins are wonderful, but to have each and every beer we entered achieve a medal is no mean feat,” Murray said. “These events are highly competitive. It’s just great affirmation of our quality and consistency.”
Last month, Murray’s Brewery took out two gold and four silver medals (six medals from six entries) at the prestigious Sydney Royal Beer & Cider Show.
