Leading NSW builder McDonald Jones has signed on as the naming rights sponsor of Hunter Stadium.
The company, which has its origins in the Hunter and now operates across NSW, the ACT and Queensland, is ranked eighth in the nation’s largest builders.
Managing Director, Andrew Helmers, says the sponsorship agreement is a fitting way to celebrate 30 years in business.
“The sponsorship is our way of saying thank you to the Hunter community who have supported us for so long,” Andrew said.
“We see the stadium as an icon of the region and we are proud to be able to put our name to it.
“The sponsorship agreement with McDonald Jones is for five years.
Venues NSW Chairman John Quayle said having a local company take up the naming rights sponsorship is a great outcome.
“McDonald Jones has a strong Hunter heritage and the stadium a rich sporting history, which combined will allow McDonald Jones to showcase their brand on the national stage,” John said.
“This sponsorship, I believe, is also a sign of the positive future this sporting precinct has for Newcastle and the Hunter.”
