Local recruitment Director named RSCA COVID-19 Hero

Novocastrian and A.I.R Recruitment Director, Suzie Ninevski, has been recognised by the CEO of the peak recruitment industry body, RCSA, as the Australian & New Zealand RCSA COVID-19 Hero.

This year the RCSA decided there was a need for a slightly different award to celebrate the industry through this difficult time.

The previous annual Community CEO Award for Outstanding Contribution became the COVID-19 Hero Award.

The RCSA is the peak body for the recruitment and staffing industry in Australia and New Zealand.

The prestigious RCSA Industry Awards provide the opportunity to recognise the best of the best in the recruitment, staffing and workforce solutions sector in Australia and New Zealand.

These coveted awards are among the most prestigious in the sector and highlight the true outstanding achievers operating in the space.

Beating seven other recruitment leaders from throughout Australia and New Zealand, Suzie was shocked, yet honoured, to hear RSCA CEO, Charles Cameron, announce her name during the live on-line event.

The award celebrates human endeavour, leadership and resilience in the face of an unprecedented challenge.

“Suzie is one of the people who has stood up and shone when we needed her to,” Charles said.

“Each and every one of the finalists inspired me and has inspired all who have enjoyed seeing the way in which we’ve contributed to create better outcomes. Great work, Suzie – well done to you.”

Suzie was recognised for her incredible care for the wider community.

At the peak of the COVID-19 lockdown she joined forces with State Member for Wallsend, Sonia Hornery MP, to help support those under financial and career stress.

A.I.R Recruitment continues to provide free reviews, advice and guidance on resumes to help get people back in the workforce.

“The past months have seen the world change for individuals, small businesses and corporate Australia in a way we could never have dreamed possible and the least I could do was offer my help; financial and career – all free of charge,” Suzie said.

“It’s vitally important during these difficult and unprecedented times that we all support each other and lend a hand where possible. I want to give back and support communities in any way possible.”

It was quite surreal for Suzie to be sitting in her office watching the Awards, as she heard her name announced as the winner of the final award of the event.

“The event was virtually over, and I was getting ready to shut the computer down and then I heard my name announced, it was amazing! I yelled out to my family I was so excited,” Suzie said.

“I’m absolutely thrilled to have been awarded the RCSA’s 2020 CEO Award for Outstanding Contribution. The award recognises the community contribution and inspirational acts from members across Australia and New Zealand.

“Thank you to my family, friends, clients and candidates for your continued support. Also, a special thank you to the RSCA for the opportunity to be part of a wonderful industry group,” Suzie concluded.

This acknowledgement caps off a great awards season for Suzie, who was also a National Finalist in the RCSA Rising Star 2020 Award category.
