The finalist recipients for the annual Australian Small Business Champion Awards has been announced, with 18 businesses from the Hunter region recognised.
The evening and awards are referred to as the ‘Oscars of Small Business’ and are designed to champion and honour small businesses throughout the nation.
They provide an opportunity to showcase the most exceptional small businesses in Australia, shining a spotlight on their contribution to their local communities and the Australian Economy.
The Awards’ National Presentation Evening will be held over two nights at The Star, Sydney on Friday 12 April and Saturday 13 April.
Among the finalist list was Beam Bookkeeping in Newcastle-West, who has been recognised as a finalist in the Accounting Bookkeeping Services category.
Managing Director, Katie McCool and Director, Debbie Mirisch said they were blown away to be named as a finalist amongst other deserving businesses.
“Awards like these are so important for businesses such as ours. We are thrilled that the hard work of our team is being recognised on a national level,” Katie said.
“Our business wouldn’t be what it is today without the support from our dedicated employees who go above and beyond for our clients. We are also very grateful for our long-term and newer clients who put their full faith in us every day.”
In the past two years, Beam Bookkeeping has experienced notable successes, illustrating the business’ growth and adaptability.
Among them was achieving Xero Platinum Partner Status, a recognition of the company’s excellence and commitment to high standards. This Partner Status is a level that very few bookkeeping firms achieve. They were also recognised at the Hunter Business Excellence Awards by winning a Customer Service Award as well as being accredited as a certified Happy Workplace with BU Happiness College.
Previous winner of the 2023 Small Business Champion Entrepreneur category, Stacey Hollands from Lust Mineral said the recognition they received from the Awards was an incredibly fulfilling career moment for herself and the team.
“Achieving the title of the 2023 Australian Small Business Champion Entrepreneur was an immense privilege, and it fills me with great pride,” Stacey said.
