Mim Jenkinson of Love from Mim has been named as a finalist for the 2022 AusMumpreneur Awards in the AusMumpreneur of the Year, Digital Innovation, Global Brand, and three People’s Choice categories.
The AusMumpreneur Awards, presented by The Women’s Business School, celebrates and recognises Australian Mum’s in business achieving outstanding success in areas such as business excellence, product development, customer service and digital innovation.
The awards are designed to recognise the growing number of women who successfully balance motherhood and business in a way that suits their life and family.
Mim is an online business coach and mentor with experience in creating and marketing digital products, courses, and memberships. She’s a mother of two and since surviving a breast cancer diagnosis in 2016, she has created a successful online business that fits around her family.
She said that being named a finalist is a delight and is proud of her achievements, particularly after increasing the annual business annual income by 70 per cent last year.
“While running my own business was always a dream from a young age, after a serious health diagnosis it became even more important to create a business that fits around my lifestyle as a busy mum of two as well as supporting my physical and mental health,” Mim said.
Mim’s business includes multiple courses and memberships, a five-star Etsy shop, hosting The Planner Podcast, creating the Paper Planner Club app and hundreds of digital products.
Over the past six years, Mim has taught and mentored over 4,000 people globally to have success with their creative pursuits and online businesses.
“You’ll hear a lot of people say just do it, but I don’t think that’s always the best advice,” Mim said.
“Starting a business can be easy but that doesn’t mean we’ll all be successful. Don’t start a business based only on what you want to create. Instead, create a product or service based on what people truly need to make their lives easier, better, less hard, and more fun.
“Do they want to save time, save money, make money, get creative, find peace, learn a skill, something else? What solution can you create that isn’t already out there? And how can you marry that up with what you’re truly passionate about or you’re skilled or experienced in?
“When you are focused on creating solutions that truly help people, selling becomes a service to helping them live a better life. Also, if you think your idea is too niche, you’ve probably hit on a gold mine!” Mim said.
