The benefits of high speed broadband will be available for members of the public to experience when Telstra and Hunter TAFE pair-up.
Telstra will open their ‘Store on Wheels’, located at Mingara Recreational Club in v Tumbi Umbi, from 3 November to 12 December 2014 and it will be a one-stop shop for all high speed internet enquiries.
Hunter TAFE will demonstrate how the rollout of high speed broadband continues to shape new ways for people to learn and gain skills via online courses. Over the period, Hunter TAFE will be offering two courses online from the Store on Wheels – in First Aid and Sustainability. Students will be able to gain qualifications from the convenience of their computer screens with teachers readily available (at the Store on Wheels) and online to guide them through the curriculum.
Hunter TAFE will also be inviting people to try its new online career-planning tool, FindMyFuture, which assists potential students to understand which career areas and courses might suit them based on their interests and values through a short quiz.
Telstra will be showcasing the many ways that people can use high speed broadband to work and play. Telstra staff will be present over the period for all questions relating to mobile phone, landline and Internet connectivity. The team will also have the latest offerings from Sony gaming for guests to try.
