Young professionals in the Hunter region this month are being given exclusive access to a unique presentation featuring internationally acclaimed Amazon best-selling author and two-time TEDx speaker, Hamza Khan.
Presented by Hunter Young Professionals (hyp), in collaboration with the University of Newcastle’s (UON) Faculty of Business and Law, Hamza will deliver a special keynote presentation on leadership, the future of work post-automation and the evolution of workplace burnout.
A multi-award-winning marketer and accomplished entrepreneur, Hamza is the Managing Director of Student Life Network, Canada’s most comprehensive resource hub dedicated to helping and empowering millions of students across the country.
He co-founded both Splash Effect, a boutique marketing and creative agency, as well as SkillsCamp, a soft skills training company.
His newly created non-profit, Resilient 100, aims to build the resilience capacity in young leaders.
Through an impressive career and portfolio of start-ups, Hamza has mastered the art of managing time, energy, and attention in order to avoid unsustainable and unhealthy ways of working.
Hamza revealed that sharing his insight on the future of work with Newcastle audiences is a very exciting opportunity.
“I’m looking forward to sharing my most recent meditations on the future of work,” Hamza said.
“I’ve been wrestling with a handful of paradoxes, including this one: despite increased awareness of burnout and solutions for it in the workplace, levels of burnout have reached epidemic proportions around the world.”
hyp President, Lauren Armstrong, said that Hamza’s presence will be a first for the organisation.
“The Board and I are thrilled to share Hamza and his insights with our members and the wider community. We are looking forward to hearing how he has navigated a successful career while experiencing similar everyday pressures to young Australians,” Lauren said.
“hyp’s purpose is to empower young professionals in the Hunter to realise their full potential, and what better way to do so than to expose our members to an impressive international speaker like Hamza who can add real value to their professional development,” she added.
Hamza is the author of an Amazon bestselling book The Burnout Gamble and is widely known for his Stop Managing, Start Leading TED talk.
A panel of two UON MBA graduates and two hyp Directors will also join Hamza for an interactive and informal discussion on millennial leadership and the future of work in Newcastle and beyond.
Details and tickets to the event can be sourced through hyp’s website.
