Hunter-based, insurance broker, Nadic, has been instrumental in the creation of a new partnership between a large Australian health fund and an international provider of travel insurance to launch an innovative, Australian first, travel insurance policy.
Teachers Health, Australia’s largest industry-based health fund, worked with TravelCard and Nadic to be able to offer its 330,000 members the Travel Card Real Time Insurance Policy.
Nadic will provide ongoing support to both parties. Teachers Health will act under Nadic’s financial service licence.
Nadic Director, Mitchell James said it is rare for an insurance broker to act in retail sales but it saw an opportunity to introduce its existing client to the insurer.
Mitchell said Nadic also provided advice on how the product could be delivered best to the fund’s members.
The policy means more than 80 per cent of approved claims (for things such as overseas medical, delayed luggage and theft of cash) can be paid within minutes using the TravelCard.
For members this means the peace of mind of no out-of-pocket expenses, no paperwork, and nil excess on all claims. With many other policies, people are required to make payments and reimbursed by their insurer, often after they return home from travelling.
Mitchell said that Nadic has been working with Teachers Health Fund for 10 years.
He said Nadic’s involvement in the project is another example of how it provides highly professional service to meet the needs of clients.
“Whether the client is a large fund like Teachers, a small to medium business or a sole trader, the Nadic team works to understand and add value to its client’s business,” Mitchell said.
“We ensure your insurance is personalised and relevant, and we work to reduce costs and optimise claim outcomes,” he said.
“No matter what size business you are in, Nadic Insurance Brokers is your trusted expert to help you manage risk and build certainty.”
Nadic Insurance started in the Hunter more than 50 years ago. It has offices in Lake Macquarie (Toronto) as well as in Sydney and the Gold Coast.
