Hunter builder, Montgomery Homes, has received top honours at the 2016 HIA-CSR Australian Housing Awards held in Hamilton Island in May, winning the category of Australian Professional Medium Builder.
Montgomery Homes is the first builder from the Hunter region to have won this award on the national stage. The judges were impressed with Montgomery Homes’ dedication to customer service, dynamic management strategies, and their comprehensive environmental sustainability program which works to minimise waste and emissions.
Operations Manager for Montgomery Homes, Simon Campbell, said that having conquered this category in the Hunter region for the past four years, receiving this award at the national level affirms Montgomery Homes’ position as a leading builder and business in Australia.
“Montgomery Homes deliver beyond bricks and mortar, each of our client’s projects are handled with care and attention to detail. Our team understands that building a home is one of the most significant investments you can make and we take that very seriously,” Simon said.
“Customer service is our highest priority. From accounts to construction, everyone in our team takes ownership of each build and with that comes an innate sense of pride in our work.”
“This is reflected in the quality of our business and of our homes. It’s great to have that acknowledged by this award.”
The judges say they were impressed with Montgomery Homes’ impressive customer service, dynamic management strategies and their comprehensive environmental sustainability program which works to minimise waste and emissions.
The environmental initiatives taken by Montgomery Homes have seen them collaborate with Greenfleet, the carbon offset charity, to help reduce the impact of building homes. Additionally, Montgomery Homes is a HIA Greensmart Professional, committed to designing and constructing homes in an environmentally responsible way.
HIA Managing Director Shane Goodwin said the HIA-CSR Australian Housing Awards program is unsurpassed in the residential building industry and represents the exacting standard of its members.
“HIA members are dedicated to achieving the very best workmanship and standards in every project they undertake. HIA’s Awards provide a tremendous opportunity for our members to showcase their projects and highlight building and design excellence.”
Another Hunter-based organisation was recognised at the awards with Peter Sosso Building winning the Australian Specialised Housing award. Judges described their single-level custom built home as ‘faultless’. The project was designed to accommodate a family with a young child with special needs and the house is fully equipped to provide a safe and comfortable environment for the whole family, for now and in the future.
