This significant contract reinforces NHN Group’s position as a leading provider of security solutions in the critical infrastructure and logistics sectors.
The contract will see NHN Group deliver a range of services, including static guarding, mobile patrols, surge response, and access control across multiple Port of Newcastle locations. Over 20 permanent staff will be deployed, supported by a pool of trained Maritime Security Guards (MSGs) based in the Hunter region.
Ben Dewson, CEO of NHN Group, expressed the company’s pride in being selected as the Port of Newcastle’s security partner. “We’re proud to be selected as the Port of Newcastle’s security partner, delivering reliable, locally driven, and future-focused solutions,” he said. “Our team is committed to ensuring a seamless and responsive security presence that supports the port’s operations and its strategic role in the region.”
The partnership emerged from a highly competitive tender process. NHN Group was selected for its demonstrated expertise in securing critical infrastructure, its use of advanced security technologies such as facial recognition and fatigue risk mitigation, and its commitment to fostering local employment and regional capability development.
This contract supports the Port of Newcastle’s broader priorities of operational safety, stakeholder trust, and regional engagement. It also provides new employment opportunities in the Hunter region, further strengthening NHN Group’s presence in the logistics and infrastructure sectors.
“This appointment signals a major step forward for NHN Group, as we expand our presence in logistics and infrastructure through scalable service models that are rooted in local knowledge and national best practices,” Dewson concluded.
