Hall & Wilcox has won Law Firm of the Year at the Lawyers Weekly Australian Law Awards for the second consecutive year.
The award was presented at the 23rd annual Australian Law Awards ceremony in Sydney on 11 August with 39 individual and group categories presented.
This year, there was a record number of 1,005 submissions, out of which 365 finalists were chosen.
The Law Firm of the Year award category criteria recognises a firm that has demonstrated professional excellence in legal practice, achieved positive client outcomes, helped advance the legal profession, and has a strong commitment to corporate social responsibility.
The award follows a string of recent successes for Hall & Wilcox. At the Beaton Client Choice Awards 2023, the firm was named Best Law & Related Services Firm and Best Professional Services Firm, as well as being a finalist as Best Provider to Financial & Insurance Services and Most Innovative Law & Related Services Firm.
The firm received three excellence awards at the Australasian Law Awards 2023, for technology and innovation, employee health and wellbeing, and diversity initiative of the year.
The firm is also a finalist in two categories at the 2023 Hunter Business Awards: Excellence in Large Business and Employer of Choice: Over 20 Employees.
Hall & Wilcox has more than 70 people working in its Newcastle office. The firm significantly bolstered its commercial presence in Newcastle and the Hunter with the hire of a team of five, headed by highly regarded corporate and commercial lawyer Suzie Leask, earlier this year.
