Hunter Young Professionals (hyp) are searching for current and future leaders of the Hunter to join the hyp Board in 2019.
hyp is now taking nominations from creative and enthusiastic people who have the time, attributes and competencies to assist with the ongoing operations of the organisation. There are multiple non-executive director positions available on a voluntary basis from January 2019 to January 2020.
hyp is actively seeking new board members with communications, social media, marketing, PR, events and/or design skills to add diversity to the skills matrix of the Board. Ultimately hyp is looking for energetic and influential young professionals, irrespective of industry, who can enable the hyp community to thrive by championing professional and career development opportunities for members.
hyp President, Lauren Armstrong, encourages young people of the Hunter region to consider taking the next step in their career by applying for the hyp Board.
“As a Director of Hunter Young Professionals, you will have the opportunity to diversify your skill set, build relationships within the local business community and challenge yourself as a young professional,” Lauren said.
“The hyp Board enables the young leaders of the Hunter to contribute to the local community while rapidly increasing their skills, network and presence.”
The Board comprises of 12 members; four executive director positions (Secretary, Treasurer, Vice President & President) and eight non-executive director positions who manage four focus areas: communications, events, sponsorship and membership.
Any registered voting hyp member is eligible to nominate for a non-executive director position and can register via the hyp website.
Nominees will be contacted after applications close and members will elect the 2019 Board at the Annual General Meeting on Tuesday 29 January 2019 at Queens Wharf Hotel. Nominations close midnight Friday, 21 December 2018.
