Daracon Group, together with Orica and Marcia Chapman, were added to the Business Hunter honour roll at the 2024 Business Hunter Awards.
Daracon received this recognition as it marks its 40th year in business, a milestone that celebrates the company’s deep-rooted connection to the Hunter region since being founded in 1983.
It’s not just four decades of project delivery across the region that was honoured, Daracon’s charitable efforts were also highlighted at the 2024 Business Hunter Awards; a finalist nod in the ‘Contribution to the Region’ category recognised their commitment to regional support, exemplified through their involvement with Variety – The Children’s Charity, Soul Hub, and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service.
Adam Kelly, Director Business Development at Daracon Group, proudly accepted the honour roll award and expressed his heartfelt appreciation.
“Joining the Business Hunter Honour Roll is a reflection of our team’s passion for making an impact in their local community through project delivery and charitable contributions. We are incredibly proud to be the Hunter’s leading civil contractor who has been shaping the future where we live and work for the past 40 years,” Adam said.
“Daracon have contributed much more than just funds each year, they have become advocates for our work wherever they go. We’ve called on them to assist with everything from packing merchandise bags to talking to the media about the importance of our work and why other large corporate organisations should jump on board with our charity. We are so thankful for the cumulative impact they’ve made over the years and the $1.87 million they have raised to help kids in need,” Variety NSW/ACT Motoring Events Manager Janet Kilazoglou said.
Daracon’s 40th year of operation has been a bumper one, with team members and Daracon’s work on the Newcastle Ocean Baths recognised at the 2024 NSW CCF Earth Awards, plus numerous other awards including Singleton Business Awards, 2023 NAWIC Excellence Awards, 2023 CCF NSW People Awards.
