Daracon Group employees celebrated a significant milestone in early 2024 as their workplace giving program surpassed $250,000 in funds raised for Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service.
Their employees have contributed to this life-saving service since 2003, which provides 24/7 emergency aeromedical services to people across NSW.
Established in 1975, the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service has been providing care for those in our community requiring medical treatment or trauma assistance from the air, often in tough terrain or inaccessible areas.
Daracon Group’s Director of Business Development, Adam Kelly said this milestone is an important achievement for the business.
“As a business, we are passionate about giving back; it’s part of our DNA. So, it’s no surprise that our team members over the years have shared our philosophy of philanthropy by raising this staggering total over the last 20+ years,” Adam said.
Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service Acting Business & Community Partnership Manager, Danny Eather said the Workplace Giving contribution made by Daracon employees over more than two decades has been significant and a valuable one to ensure the Service remains on standby for communities in the Region.
“We are very grateful for the support from Daracon employees. These funds have been used to provide the highest possible standard of training to our Pilots and Aircrew Officers and to ensure our aircraft remain ready to respond 24/7 with the latest life-saving medical equipment and technology,” Danny said.
“The support has enabled us to carry out life-saving rescue missions and emergency inter-hospital transfers from small rural and regional hospitals throughout the Hunter, New England North West and Mid North Coast over the past 20 years.
“We will continue to welcome the support of Daracon employees as the cost of operating our Service increases with maintenance, equipment and training costs all rising and the need for our Service to respond to life-threatening emergencies continues to grow.
Daracon Group supports two local charities through their Workplace Giving program, including the Westpac Rescue Helicopter and Variety NSW.
