The recently rebranded Customer Experience Agency, Tortoise & Hare has made the most of the historic Newcastle City and community efforts to attract people to the region and revitalise the CBD.
Tortoise & Hare is led by Angela Cobb, Business Development – formerly General Manager Loyalty Strategy, Marketing and Operations at Everyday Rewards; Oliver Stewart, Client Service – formerly Head of Customer and Loyalty Marketing at Foxtel; and Nicholas Wonders, General Manager – with extensive entrepreneurial experience.
“When we were looking to set up our agency, we knew we wanted to make the move back to Newcastle,” said Nicholas.
“With the help of the Renew Newcastle efforts, we were able to find a shared office space in town, and more importantly, tap into the expanding local talent pool of creatives.”
“Fast-forward 8 years and we’ve built a team of local talent, and work with leading Australian brands.”
Formerly ‘AM-i Customer Engagement Agency’, Tortoise & Hare has rebranded and streamlined its service offering to better collaborate with and service Australia’s leading customer-obsessed brands.
The agency’s new positioning, inspired by the fabled Tortoise and Hare, reflects the true nature of rewarding relationships – that they are built on genuine, consistent effort over the long term.
“In an age where everything is measured by the minute, we wanted to develop a brand that’s about going the distance,” said Oliver.
“We aren’t interested in reactive tactics to hit daily sales targets, we are in the business of building lifetime value and loyalty.”
nib, Everyday Rewards, Cashrewards, Roche and W23 (Woolworths venture capital arm) are just some of the brands that benefit from Tortoise & Hare’s expertise and service offering.
The CX agency is excited to continue to showcase Newcastle talent on the national stage.
“Newcastle is truly a hub for innovation, we’re really grateful to be a part of it and passionate about seeing it grow,” said Nicholas.
“We are excited to continue to create opportunities for marketers to hone their skills and work on projects for blue chip clients, and determined to build a nationally recognised CX team right in the heart of Newcastle.”
Tortoise & Hare attributes their success to the fact that the core team have all worked both agency and client-side.
“When we say we get our clients challenges – we really mean it,” said Angela.
“Our ability to understand their context whilst remaining an objective third-party is what makes us invaluable. At some point we’ve all been told we’re mad to go back agency side. But this is what sets us apart – we get business because we’ve been in business!” Angela said.
