The Australian Trucking Association celebrated technical and maintenance excellence last month at the 2020 Castrol Vecton Industry Awards.
Broadcast live in conjunction with the TMC Online conference, the awards revealed AJM Transport General Manager, Dennis Roohan as the winner of the 2020 Craig Roseneder Award.
As the General Manager of the local Newcastle company AJM Transport, Dennis oversees 150 pieces of equipment and 100 staff members. He has been involved in the transport industry for more than 25 years, starting an apprenticeship in 1994.
Australian Trucking Association Chair, David Smith said Dennis is to be commended for this achievement and the commitment he has made to the industry and organisation.
“Dennis is a proactive industry member and demonstrates outstanding knowledge, ability and leadership qualities,” David said.
“He is a longstanding member of the ATA’s Industry Technical Council, joining more than 15 years ago and currently serves at the ITC Vice Chair.
“Dennis Chairs the Council’s Productivity Working Group, and is well-known his expert technical knowledge and hands-on approach to workshop management.”
Speaking after the awards, Dennis said that it was great honour to be presented with this award after many years of service in the industry.
“It’s a great honour to be presented with this award, a career highlight,” he said.
“Starting my career as a 16 year old apprentice in Newcastle, this award recognises technical and maintenance excellence in the workshop and is something I have been aspiring to win for some time and it’s great to be recognised as being one of transport industries top performers.”
Dennis will receive a fully paid trip to the US to attend a Technology and Maintenance Council’s Annual Meeting and Transportation Technology Exhibition.
