Australian engineering firm, 4Tel, has recently appointed Tony Crosby as their new CEO in a restructure of the executive team.
Tony has been an integral part of 4Tel’s growth since joining the company in 2013 as the General Manager of Services.
He has been responsible for the company’s customer support contracts and ongoing local and international business development. Tony holds extensive industry experience, having worked within the rail industry since 2000.
Tony is formally recognised by Engineers Australia as a Chartered Professional Engineer, and holds a Bachelor of Engineering, Communications-Electronics with Honours, and an MBA in Technology.
Outgoing CEO, Joanne Wurst said Tony’s expertise will be well received and placed in his new position at 4Tel.
“Tony has some great strategies lined up to keep our growth on an upwards trajectory and we look forward to seeing them come to fruition,” Joanne said.
“As a family owned and operated business, this is the first time 4Tel has appointed a CEO outside of the family. We have strong targets to grow the business over the next five to 10 years.
“With the depth of Tony’s industry experience in supporting our existing customers and developing new business, we are confident in his ability to deliver on company objectives.”
Joanne has taken on a new hybrid role of Group CEO for 4Tel and subsidiary company, 4AI Systems, based from New York.
Tony said this opportunity is incredibly humbling and he looks forward to working with 4Tel and its people further to take their level of services to new heights.
“It is a privilege to take over as 4Tel CEO as Joanne moves to New York to head our business expansion in North America. It is very rewarding to work with an innovative and agile Australian company that is developing world-class solutions.
“Our local Newcastle team is currently working to deliver projects globally and develop industry-leading technology in areas such as AI that provide opportunities to significantly improve safety and increase the efficiency of rail operations in Australia and overseas.
“I look forward to leading 4Tel‘s continued growth to provide exciting technology employment opportunities to Newcastle residents.”
As part of the restructuring, Jim Woltjer has been promoted to General Manager of Software.
Jim has been a champion for change and has grown the largest team of staff within the company. Under his leadership, 4Tel’s client base will notice an improvement in design, functionality, and performance of systems.
Matt Burger has been promoted to Systems Integration Team Leader. He will be forming and leading the newest team in 4Tel, specialists who make solutions work in many customer environments.
He has been integral to delivering services to ARTC, Transdev Sydney Ferries, Transport for NSW, to name a few.
