the bloomWhat started as a light-hearted ribbing between colleagues has turned into a fun business challenge that is now bringing together Newcastle businesses and supporting local charities at the same time.
The brainchild of Property Solutions 101, Director Kylie Frearson said the PS101 Challenge is all about having fun, bringing your team together, networking with other local businesses and supporting the amazing charities in Newcastle.
The idea for the challenge came from a staff morning tea with a few younger colleagues lightheartedly claiming they could easily beat veteran Buyer’s Agent, Dale Slater at stand up paddle boarding. Little did they know, Dale is quite the accomplished paddle boarder who regularly spends his weekends out in the waves.
Kylie then declared the PS101 Challenge has begun and she was happy to donate $200 to the winners chosen local charity.
“From that first challenge we donated $200 to Newcastle SES branch, $200 to Children’s Hospital in Newcastle and $200 to Mentor Support Network. We all had such a fantastic time completing the challenge that we were ready instantly to go up against another business,” Kylie said.
Fox Stevens Conveyancing was the next local business to take up the challenge, a game of basketball horse. It was hard fought with Property Solutions 101 coming away the winner on the day. Fox Stevens Conveyancing Director Julie Fox also declared not only would they donate $200 to Children’s Hospital, they would also donate another $200 for their chosen charity, Mark Hughes Foundation.
To date Property Solutions 101 has collectively raised $1,000 for local Newcastle charities in the past month.
The next challenge has been announced as the Ninja Warrior Challenge at Ninja Parc in Cooks Hill on Wednesday, 7 June. Local plumbing business, H L Mullane &Son has stepped up to compete against Property Solutions 101, with spectators welcome on the day.
“We have a solid team and we’re looking for back-to-back wins. We strongly support the PS101 Challenge and can’t wait to welcome more local businesses to accept our challenges. Its all in the name of fun and supporting great local charities.”
